The Cellar Release is a vintage specific series that allows winemaker, Will Shields, the flexibility to select small batches of wine that stand out during vintage and create special releases. This series will be available at our Cellar Door and Restaurant, for our Mail Order customers, and at select on-premise only.

A warm powerful aroma of ripe baked fruits; plums and prunes; spiced currants. Forest floor aroma add to the depth, as does hints of violets and vanilla.

The palate has silky tannins, vibrant flavours and a lovely easy length. Balanced and poised is an adequate summary.

This recently released wine is the first of Clairault's new "Site Series". The Site Series wines have each been named after the single site on the Clairault Estate where the wine originates from. So to explain the nomenclature, the B79 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc comes from site B which was planted in 1979... hence B79!

This wine is 60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc

Matured in French oak barriques for 9 months, this is a complex and elegant wine that has great cellaring potential.

The aroma is attractive and layered with lemon meringue, orange blossom, wet straw, honey dew melon, coastal scrub, seaweed and a touch of vanilla.
The palate displays a lovely textural length, combined with a soft acidity and freshness. It is a gentle palate that lets the fruit and textural complexities shine.

Deep red hues. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, black olives, plum, with hints of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and sage. The palate is nicely balanced, with dry silky tannins and a length of flavour. Supporting the core of dark berry fruits is a terrior driven quality that shows through as granite and dried herb with a touch of sweetly scented eucalyptus. The tannins are very fine.

Dark ripe cherry and blackberry aromas dominate. Subtle complexities follow of vanilla, roasted chestnuts, cola and flint. A wonderfully expressive and varietal aroma.

Fine defined tannins sit around a core of dark cherry fruit sweetness. The fruit depth is well countered by the acidity and tannins. The palate finishes with diamond like precision.

Bright lemon straw colour. The aroma shows a depth of vibrant, uplifted fruit flavour. Citrus flavours of pink grapefruit and blood orange along with ripe honey dew melon, quince and nectarine. There are also hints of nougat and marzipan. The palate is smooth and rounded with a gentle acidity. The oak is barely noticeable on the palate, but for the silky texture and butterscotch length it imparts. A very well balanced and softly textured wine.
